How to read these tables
Two columns do the work. The first is Undercroft. The museum under the memorial opened on 25 June 2026 and needs a timed-entry ticket; the memorial above it does not, and never has. A tour can give you half an hour on the steps and inside the chamber and still not take you downstairs, and most of them do exactly that. I have had people ask me at the top of the steps where the museum entrance is, holding a booking that was never going to get them in.
The second is Rating, and the review count is printed beside every score rather than left off. The two undercroft products carry four reviews and none. That is a fact about how new the museum is, not a verdict on the operators: nobody could have reviewed an undercroft product before the end of June. Read those two rows as untested rather than as weak, and read a 4.6 built on 1,599 reviews as the settled thing it is.
Product titles are not a promise. Several of these are sold as a “Lincoln Memorial tour” and mean the steps, the chamber and the statue. If the booking page does not name the undercroft in its inclusions, it is not included. Only the two tours in the first table below say it.
The tours that include the undercroft
Two products, aimed at completely different people. One is a ticket with a digital guidebook and no guide at all, bought so that you do not have to organise the reservation yourself. The other is a guided evening walk of the Mall that hands you timed undercroft tickets at the end, so the museum visit happens on your own after the group breaks up. The operator of the second asks you to keep 30 minutes to an hour free afterwards.

The self-guided ticket is non-refundable, in the operator’s own words, and it is worth saying plainly what it is: a reseller of a reservation that the National Park Service does not charge for. The operator states that itself on the booking page, and also states that it is independently operated and not affiliated with the National Park Service. Plenty of people will happily pay to skip an early kiosk queue on their one morning in Washington. Others will want to book it themselves in four minutes. Both are reasonable; the cost page lays out the three routes side by side, and the tickets page walks through doing it yourself.
The self-guided ticket includes
- Timed entry to the undercroft, held in your name
- A digital guidebook for the exhibits
- Entry to the memorial chamber above, which is free to everyone anyway
It does not include
- Any refund, since the operator lists this activity as non-refundable
- A guide, a talk or a group
- Any affiliation with the National Park Service, which the operator states outright
The review worth repeating on that product is not a rave, and it is the honest note a comparison page owes you. Corina, one of its four reviewers, wrote: “I was expecting more from it. The exhibition was comparatively very small for this huge monument.” Fifteen thousand square feet under a building that size reads smaller than the number sounds. Go for the columns and the exhibits rather than for scale.

Carolyn, one of the trolley tour’s reviewers, describes the trade honestly: “Nice to be able to sit down and ride around after touring DC on foot all day. The trolley makes three stops where you can get off and walk around and take pictures. There isn’t a lot of time at the stops, but it is sufficient.” That is the whole proposition of a wheeled night tour: distance covered, minutes traded.

The bike tour is the only one where you supply the effort; the operator includes the bike and the helmet, and asks for some riding experience. It scores 4.8 across more than 400 reviews, the best score in the catalogue among the products with that much volume behind them. The vans are the answer to a Washington August, and two of these four product pages lead on air conditioning for exactly that reason.

Four walking tours, and the honest warning is the one every guide in this city gives: the Mall is bigger than it photographs. The National Park Service puts the walk from Foggy Bottom–GWU station to the memorial at about 0.8 miles, and from Smithsonian at about 1.2 miles, and that is before you start moving between memorials.
